Our objectives are to help both Active and Recovering Addicts no matter what their circumstances,
to maintain their Sobriety and Abstinence. We will assist in raising the awareness of addiction
as a disease to family members, loved ones and the general public. We will educate those unaware
to the fact that addiction is in fact a medical illness as opposed to an individual’s weakness.
Ultimately we will make addiction easier to accept and confront. In brief we will:
- Educate
- Support
- Provide Respite
- Assist Sustained Recovery
The Recovery Network plans to become the centre of excellence in the field of addiction. We will
cover addictions to drugs, alcohol, gambling, shopping, sex & relationships , exercise and eating
disorders.
The Recovery Network will be the first interactive television channel in the UK to provide real time
education and social assistance to anyone affected by addiction. The company is establishing an interactive
television channel and streamed internet platform. Our primary purpose is to:
- Provide support and guidance to addicts and recovering addicts no matter what their circumstances,
in order to assist them in maintaining their sobriety and recovery.
- Offer support to family members and loved ones, who themselves, are often overlooked as victims of
this family illness.
- Raise awareness within the general public of the disease of addiction and to educate those unaware
that addiction is in fact, a medical illness as opposed to an individual’s weakness.
- Produce a television and internet format that will provide additional help to both active and
recovering addicts alike, within their own homes. Both the television and internet platforms will
broadcast the types of therapy and discussion groups that until now have only been available to
addicts in treatment centres and/or to those who are willing to physically attend fellowship meetings.
- The Recovery Network is not intended to act as a substitute or replacement for any existing fellowships
that a recovering addict is currently a member of. Our aim is to compliment existing fellowships and to assist
those not currently engaged with an existing organisation.
- Help recovering addicts to get through periods when the dangers of relapsing are at there highest.
Although this can be at any time, the obvious pressures are heightened during the evenings and unsociable
hours. The Recovery Network will fill the gap in available support services and provide assistance on a
24-hour basis through the primary medium of television and the internet.
